The Sino-Ghana Research Center for West Africa (SGRC-WA), in partnership with the School of Foreign Studies and Trade (SFST) at Hubei University of Automotive Technology (HUAT), held a two-day webinar on Proposal Writing for Research Paper and Research Funding on September 17–18, 2025. The event took place at the SGRC-WA Conference Room (3505).
Participants, including the SFST Provost, lecturers, and doctoral scholars, attended the interactive session.
The facilitator, Dr. Yaw Osei Akoto, Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, guided participants through practical steps in proposal development, aligning ideas with funding opportunities, and strengthening academic writing for international publication.
The sessions were moderated by Dr. Lemuel Gbologah, Director of SGRC-WA. In attendance were the Provost of SFST, faculty members, and doctoral visiting scholars affiliated with the Center.
“A strong research culture is built on the foundation of well-written proposals. When scholars can communicate their ideas clearly, they not only attract funding but also contribute meaningfully to global knowledge,” said Dr. Akoto.
Dr. Gbologah emphasized that the webinar forms part of SGRC-WA’s broader agenda to host academic workshops and cultural dialogues that deepen cross-cultural and interdisciplinary scholarship between Ghana and China.
